These settings allow you to customize the order processing to suit your specific requirements. To access these settings, navigate to Properties > Global Settings > General > Order Processing:
- Pickup Time Buffer: default time needed to pick up a new order from the moment of its creation. This setting is used for orders created manually. For example, if this setting is configured to 20 minutes, an order created at 10:00 AM will have a 10:20 AM pickup time, which you can further adjust as needed.
- ASAP Order Threshold: the number of minutes that determine whether an order is considered ASAP or Scheduled. If the order's scheduled time falls within this defined threshold, it will be categorized as ASAP. Orders scheduled beyond this time frame will be considered Scheduled orders. Setting this value to 0 will treat all orders as Scheduled
Note: This setting also influences the ability to assign offline drivers to an order if the "Allow assign scheduled orders" setting in the Offline Drivers section is enabled. You can find this option on the same page of the Global settings, below the Driver section.
Our system does not allow the assignment of ASAP orders to offline drivers. If you require the ability to assign offline drivers to all orders, please set the ASAP Order Threshold to 0, treating all orders as Scheduled.
The following settings affect how Cartwheel calculates drop-off times when they are not specified during order creation:
- Time Spent at Pick-up: average time it takes for a driver to pick up an order, from arrival to departure.
- Time Spent at Drop-off: average time required for a driver to hand over an order to the customer, from arrival at the drop-off location to order completion.
- Driving Time per Mile: average time needed for a driver to travel one mile of distance.
- Driving Time per Straight Line Mile: average time required for a driver to travel one mile in a straight line.
- Time to Accept Assigned ASAP Order: the timeframe in minutes given to drivers to accept ASAP orders assigned to them. Orders not accepted within this timeframe will change their status to Unassigned.
Note: This setting is most useful for Manual and Autodispatch order assignment methods, where an order is assigned to a particular driver. With Self-Assign, orders stay in Unassigned status, and drivers see all of them in their app until one of them accepts it or the order gets canceled. But even if you have Self-Assign enabled, you can still manually assign some orders, and this setting will be applied to those cases as well.
- Unassigned orders when offline: enter the time when order will be unassigned from driver if they go offline
- Large Order Threshold Type: choose from the drop-down list which field will be used to classify orders as Large:
- Total
- Subtotal
- Large Order Threshold Value: orders exceeding the specified value in these criteria will receive a special label on the Dispatcher Map.
- Action for Old Unassigned Orders: choose the action from the dropdown list.
- No action
- Auto Complete
- Auto Cancel
If selected, any order with the "Unassigned" status will be auto-completed or canceled at 4 AM local time. This feature helps ensure orders are not left in an unassigned state for an extended period and remove them from the Dispatcher Map.
- Action for Old Revoked Orders: choose the action from the dropdown list.
- No action
- Auto Complete
- Auto Cancel
Orders with Revoked status will also be auto-canceled or auto-completed at 4 AM local time.
- Simplify Order Processing for Drivers
Enable the checkbox next to Auto Accepts Orders or Auto Pick Up Orders if you want to automatically move your orders from the Unassigned status straight to Accepted or Picked Up statuses. This reduces the need for manual intervention by drivers during these initial stages.
- Require Photo to Complete Orders
Check the box next to Orders Containing Controlled Substances or Large Orders if you want to make uploading a photo a mandatory requirement for drivers to complete the delivery.
Note: These settings will be applied if the "require photo" flag is not specified in the API request or if the order was created manually. If the flag is included in the request, the requirement for a photo will be determined by the flag's value, bypassing the dashboard settings. For example, if the API request contains the line "require photo": "true," then the photo will be requested from a driver in the Driver app, even if it is not set anywhere in the dashboard, and vice versa.
