Toast: Set Up Delivery with Uber Direct

This guide walks you through how to activate Cartwheel with your Toast account so you can start offering delivery powered by Uber Direct. Just follow the three steps below — it only takes a few minutes on your end!

Add Cartwheel to your Toast account

• Log into your Toast account.
• In the left-hand menu, click Integrations, then select Browse & Purchase Integrations.
• In the search bar, type "Cartwheel" and click Add Now.

If Integrations isn't visible in your menu, your Toast plan or user permissions may not support it — reach out to Toast support to check.

Turn on delivery in Toast

• In your Toast account, go to Takeout & Delivery → Toast Online Ordering → Delivery.
• Under "How do you want to deliver orders to guests?", select My own delivery drivers. 

This may also be referred to as First-Party Delivery. If you can see the Delivery toggle, your setup has been configured correctly.

⚠ Heads up

"My own delivery drivers" is just the label Toast uses — it doesn't mean you need your own drivers. Selecting it is what allows Cartwheel to receive and manage your delivery orders. 

ⓘ Don't see the delivery option?

You may need to enable delivery in your Toast internal settings first. Watch the video below for a full walkthrough of the required Toast settings.

⚠ Important

Please leave the Delivery toggle disabled until we confirm that your setup has been completed on our end. We'll let you know as soon as everything is ready and you can safely turn it on.

Set up your Uber Direct account

• Check your inbox for an email from Uber Direct inviting you to their platform. Don't see it? Reach out to us and we'll resend it.
• Click Join in the email to accept the invitation and access the Uber Direct Dashboard.
• When registering, use your email address to sign up — not your phone number.
• Go to the Billing section and add your payment details.
• Let us know once this step is done!

What happens next?

Once all three steps are complete, our team needs 1 business day to finish the setup on our end. You'll receive a confirmation email as soon as everything is ready — that's when you can switch your delivery toggle back on.
